Waterford C.I.C. 37 Lower Yellow Road, Waterford

THE FIRST THURSDAY OF EACH MONTH

10.00am to 1.00pm 2.00pm to 4.00pm

Since June 1995 the Office of the Ombudsman has been visiting the Citizens Information Centre (CIC) in Waterford on the first Thursday of each month. The primary purpose of the visits was to interview people in the Waterford area who had unresolved complaints about Government Departments, Local Authorities, Health Boards and An Post. A secondary purpose of the visits was to raise awareness about the existence and functions of the Ombudsman. Since the visits to Waterford started almost 600 people have visited the Ombudsman's representatives in at the CIC.

The Office of the Ombudsman will be ceasing the monthly visits to Waterford CIC very shortly, with the final visit being on Thursday 4 October, 2001. Any person wishing to visit the Ombudsman's representative on that date may do so by calling to the CIC at 37 Lower Yellow Road, Waterford from 10.00am to 1.00pm and 2.00pm to 4.00pm (appointments can not be given).

The Ombudsman's services will continue to be available to people in the Waterford area. In this regard, anyone who wishes to make a complaint about a Government Department, Local Authority, Health Board or An Post can contact the Office directly at Office of the Ombudsman, 18 Lower Leeson Street, Dublin 2 or telephone on 1890 22 30 30 (for the price of a local call.

The Ombudsman would like to express his sincere gratitude to all the volunteers and staff at the Waterford Citizens Information Centre for their help in making the visits to the Centre such a success, by providing accommodation and other invaluable support.
