I hereby submit my ninth Annual Report to the Dáil and Seanad pursuant to the provisions of Section 6(7) of the Ombudsman Act, 1980. This is the 28^th Annual Report submitted in relation to the work of the Office of the Ombudsman since it was established in 1984.

Pat Whelan (retired) was Director General of the Office in the period under review. Ms Bernadette McNally has replaced him.
