Regulation of Lobbying Act 2015
The Regulation of Lobbying Act 2015 is designed to provide information to the public about who is lobbying whom about what. Further information is available at www.lobbying.ie.
Section 6(4) of the Act requires each public body to publish a list of designated public officials of the body. The purpose of the list is :
- to allow members of the public to identify those persons who are designated public officials
- to be used as a resource for lobbyists filing a return to the Register who may need to source a designated public official’s details.
The Designated Public Official within the Office of the Ombudsman is Ms. Jacqui McCrum, Director General.
The Director General plays leading role in the administration and development of the Office and is the Accounting Officer of the organisation. She is responsible for the day to day management of the organisation and assists and advises the Ombudsman and Information Commissioner in setting out and implementing the strategic policy direction for the organisation.
